About the inventor of Banarach Farm Manuals

Andrea Ludemann was born and raised in a North Otago farming family. After schooling at Waitaki Girls’ High School she trained as a Physiotherapist. Andrea then travelled overseas and worked as a physiotherapist in many varied settings from private hospitals to visiting community therapist. On returning to NZ she completed post–grad studies, worked with local sports teams competing at a national level including the North Otago NPC rugby team. In 2000 Andrea and her husband Richard Plunket along with his parents established Banarach Farm Ltd comprising of a 117 effective Ha dairy farm and 208 Ha beef and dairy support unit. Improvements over the past 8 years have seen extensive irrigation development on the beef unit as well as increasing milking herd size and productivity.

In 2001 she became the manager of the Waimate Physiotherapy Clinic in a sole charge position and established Waitaki Physiotherapy Services (A private clinic working from home). In 2005 Richard and Andrea returned to beef, dairy support and sheep unit to further its production goals. With the placing of a manager on the dairy farm they saw the need for a management system to help them and the staff. Unable to source any product on the market to help them they started the job on their own. Once their own was finished the Banarach Farm Manuals was then developed. Andrea's role with in the farm at present includes all the administration as well as a small practical role that works in with their family and community roles and commitments.
